Original U.S. WWII USAAF Survival "Gibson Girl" BC-778-D Radio Transmitter with Crank U.S. Helmets/Hats 1901) being the date ofOriginal Item: Only One Available. This is a very good condition WWII example of the Gibson Girl BC 778 D Radio Transmitter, part of the SCR 578 A Survival Radio Set. This radio was used on B 17 and B 24 bombers and got its name because their narrow waist reminded people of the young ladies drawn by illustrator Charles Dana Gibson. The Radio transmitter comes with the main securing strap still intact, as well as the Hand Crank GC 18 A and the Reel RL
